Burglary | 4000 block of Spruce Street

Penn Police responded to a report of a burglary at 40th and Spruce Streets. Upon arrival, police discovered that the suspect had smashed a window and entered a commercial property, then started a small fire. The Philadelphia Fire department responded with Police and quickly extinguished the fire. There are no reported injuries.

The suspect is described as a Black male, medium build, wearing all black clothing and a large red hat. The suspect was last seen heading south on 40th Street from Pine Street. Police and Security are patrolling the area.
